Privacy Policy

A Little True does not collect any data. There is no account, no server, and nothing to opt out of.

The short version

What stays on your device

A Little True stores the following on your iPhone or iPad, and only there:

• Your affirmations — the text, whether an affirmation is built in, enabled, or a favorite, and its order.
• Which affirmations were selected for a given day.
• Which affirmations you completed or skipped, and when a day's set was finished.
• An optional reflection you may choose after finishing a day's practice.
• Your settings — how many affirmations per day, the system voice and speaking rate you picked, and whether your own affirmation wording may appear in widgets.
• Whether you turned on a daily reminder, and the time you chose. When it is on, iOS also holds the scheduled reminder request on your device.
• A widget summary — a small file the app writes to a container it shares with its widgets, so the Home and Lock Screen widgets can show the day's practice. It holds the summary's own version, the day it is for, up to five affirmations and the wording shown, where you are in the day, and which ones are done. By default that wording is built in rather than your own; see Widgets below.
• A storage record — which storage version is in use, where the app's database lives, and whether a move from an older version finished. While data from an older version is being cleaned up, it also notes the size, timestamps, and filesystem location of the app's own database files. It never contains affirmation text, reflections, recognition results, or audio.

Apart from the widget summary, the storage record, and the reminder request iOS holds, everything above is kept in a local database in the app's own storage. The storage record is a small separate file beside that database. The widget summary is a separate file in the container the app shares with its widgets. All three of the app's own files are protected by iOS file protection, and iCloud sync is not enabled. During an upgrade, the app can also keep a temporary second copy of that database until the move has been checked and the old copy cleaned up.

Speaking an affirmation

Saying an affirmation aloud is always optional. You can complete every part of the practice without ever using the microphone.

If you do choose to speak, A Little True asks for microphone and speech recognition permission first, and recognition runs on your device. Audio, partial results, final transcripts, and timing information are held only for the moment they are needed and are then discarded. None of it is written to storage, and none of it is sent to the developer or to any other service.

A Little True does not score your pronunciation, your accuracy, or whether you sounded convinced.

Widgets

The Home and Lock Screen widgets read a small summary file that the app writes to a shared container on your device. By default that file uses built-in wording rather than your own, so personal affirmations are not shown on your Home or Lock Screen. You can change this in Settings under "Show personal affirmations in widgets."

The widget summary never contains reflections, skipped items, voice or reminder settings, microphone audio, or recognition text. The widget performs no networking.

Notifications

If you turn on the daily reminder, A Little True schedules a local notification on your device. Its text is always the same generic message — "Your affirmations are ready." — and it never contains your affirmation or reflection text.

What A Little True does not do

• It does not create an account or collect an email address, name, or phone number.
• It does not use advertising identifiers or track you across apps or websites.
• It does not use analytics, crash reporting services, or third-party SDKs that collect data.
• It does not sell or share information, because it does not have any to sell or share.
• It does not send your affirmations, reflections, voice, or usage to the developer.

Children

A Little True does not collect data from anyone, including children. It has no accounts, no messaging, no social features, and no user content shared between people.

Deleting your data

Because everything is stored on your device, deleting the app removes it. Settings inside the app also let you clear reflections, clear practice history, or delete all local data.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of A Little True ever changes what it stores or transmits, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the date at the top will change.
